Reasons Why RFID Electronic Labels Cannot Be Read? - 翻译中...
With the popularity of the Internet of Things concept, many people start to use RFID electronic labels to manage fixed assets. Generally speaking, a complete solution includes RFID fixed asset management system, RFID printer, RFID label, RFID reader, etc. As an important component, if there is a problem with RFID electronic label, it will affect the operation of the entire system.
Reasons why RFID labels cannot be read
RFID electronic labels are damaged
There is a chip and an antenna in the RFID electronic label. If the chip is subjected to external force or high static electricity, it may be ineffective. The antenna, if the RFID signal receiving antenna is damaged, will also cause failure. Therefore, RFID electronic labels cannot be damaged by compression or tearing. Generally high-demand RFID electronic labels will be packaged in plastic cards to avoid damage from external forces.
There are interfering objects
RFID labels cannot penetrate metal. When the label is obstructed by metal, it will affect the reading distance of the RFID handheld, or it may not be able to read at all. At the same time, the radio frequency information of RFID electronic labels is difficult to penetrate water. If it is blocked by water, the sensing distance will also be limited. Generally, the signal of RFID labels can penetrate non-metallic or non-transparent materials such as paper, wood, and plastic, and can perform penetrative communication. If the usage scenario is special, it is necessary to customize electronic labels with special properties such as anti-metal labels, high temperature resistance, and waterproofing.
The reading distance is too far
According to the different manufacturing processes of RFID electronic labels, different application environments, and different RFID readers, the reading distance is different. If the reading distance is too far, it will affect the reading effect.
Factors affecting the reading distance of RFID labels
It is related to the radio frequency power of the RFID reader
If the radio frequency power is small, the reading and writing distance is closer. Conversely, if the power is large, the reading distance is further.
It is related to the antenna gain of the RFID reader
If the gain of the reader antenna is small, the reading and writing distance is closer. Conversely, if the gain is high, the reading distance is further.
It is related to the compatibility of the polarization direction and relative angle of RFID labels and the antenna
If the direction is consistent and the compatibility is high, the reading distance is further. Conversely, if the compatibility is not high, the reading distance is closer.
It is related to the attenuation per unit length of the feedline
The greater the attenuation, the closer the reading and writing distance is. Conversely, the smaller the attenuation, the further the reading distance is.
It is related to the total length of the feedline connecting the reader and the antenna
The longer the feedline, the closer the reading and writing distance is. Conversely, the shorter the feedline, the further the reading distance is.
